Just three days ago, on June 12th, celebrity personality, actress, and writer, Angela Giarratana, posted her first YouTube video, promising a short film to come. Before the video uploaded, about 48,000 fans had already joined the channel. However, in the 44 hours following the video, Giarratana’s subscriber count grew exponentially…
Giarratana isn’t a small creator. She hasn’t been for a few years now. On each of her platforms, she has an average of 800K followers. Not little at all. And the fanfare that her first YouTube video drew is proof of that.
Around 4:30 in the morning, on June 14th, fans began to flock to Giarratana’s YouTube to watch and celebrate with her when she reached her first 100K subs. That goal was accomplished not even 40 minutes later, by 5:08am. Sixteen hours after her first upload.
The short film, Uncle Johnny, dropped at 10am on June 14th and, as of writing this about 17 hours later, that subscriber count has already grown to 120K.
Let’s Talk Metrics
Adding to the impressive accomplishment of pulling 80K subs in 59 hours, is the metrics AngTube pulls.
Even with multiple rewatches from most fans (and an obvious limit of one like per account), Giarratana’s like-per-view (LPV) rate stays above 20%… which is a wild statistic. This interaction percentage demonstrates that Giarratana doesn’t just gather fanfare, she captivates hearts. Her views turn into engagement because she’s more than an entertainer; she’s a relatable human being who frequently gets real, acts genuinely, displays raw emotion, and connects to the humanity of her community better than most people do in a lifetime.
Her fans have discovered her via many channels, but most of them first found her through Smosh, StarKid, or her viral TikTok sound. However, even though these wide-reaching places are where she was discovered, her metrics have proven that their fame isn’t what lended her hers. In simpler terms: Those places aren’t what gave her who she is, they just provided a platform for people to discover her; to see who she is. And it’s who she is that makes people stay. That’s why her metrics have surpassed those of the groups that came before her.
The Stats
AngTube has a 22% average LPV rate, which is incredibly impressive on its own, but it’s even more so when we learn that Smosh’s is around 5% across non-podcast channels on videos in the last month. *
Smosh reaches, Angela touches. That’s how I know that these places didn’t create her; they just showed the world that she exists and it loved her the way she’s always been.
LPV, as of early morning June 15, 2026:
Bit City (June 12): 7%
Games (June 14): 5%
Pit (June 13): 5%
Ang’s First YT (June 12): 19%
Uncle Johnny (June 14): 25%
*(dropping near 4% on Pit and Games at two-three weeks old [5-6% if Angela is casted #literalqueen], BC stays at 5% at a month old.)
Considerations: Angela’s metrics are very young.
However, 10% is the average/above average even given new content. 15% is a somewhat popular spike if content is received well; such as on regularly-viral accounts or one-time viral circumstances. But to stay above 10% for longer than 24 hours is a celebratory success in the digital media world. Smosh succeeds even with a 5% LPV because their reach is wide enough that they don’t require a 10% LPV to stay above the rest of the noise like most other accounts need in order to accomplish comparable attention.
Smosh reaches, Angela touches. That’s how I know that these places didn’t create her; they just showed the world that she exists and it loved her the way she’s always been.
Verdict:
It’s really awesome to watch people support Angela and appreciate her talent. Even though all of this kind of means nothing, it uplifts me, personally, to see people uplifting her.
So again, even though this is a fun thing to see, it’s just a fun thing to see. In the end, it’s just exciting to get to support Angela and her projects, and AngTube is another cool way to get to do that. Go subscribe to awesomeness, here!
Go far little rockstar!!
Much love to you all,
