After months of waiting, subscribers of Angela Giarratana’s YouTube Channel (fondly known as “AngTube”) were finally rewarded with word from the creator!

Back in February, Patrick MacDonald had challenged Giarratana to a 100K Subscribers Challenge. Some fans feared this meant that they wouldn’t see anything on the channel in a while. BUT, considering the cause important enough, Giarratana broke the silence incurred by the challenge and finally posted her first video this afternoon, June 12th.

The video hit Subscribers’ feeds at 1:06p PST and a welcome flood of surprised fans immediately clicked to see what update Giarratana would give them.

Throughout the quick episode, viewers are told that her short film, Uncle Johnny, filmed in 2024, would finally be released on AngTube on June 14th after having taken its jaunt through the festival circuit and acquiring many prestigious awards, and that the purpose of sharing it on her channel was to raise awareness for programs like New Horizons.

“Instead of just posting [the film] to be like, ‘what do you guys think of my movie!?’, Umm, I want you guys to look at New Horizons.” She said and shared short clips from a tour she took around the organization’s center, which has kitchens, a computer lab, and activities for those with developmental disabilities to learn skills and have a safe community to connect and belong.

The short film was inspired by her own late uncle, her dad’s brother, Johnny, who was autistic. She shared how it positively impacted his life:

“For years, my uncle would come back with a huge smile on his face, because he had friends and he had a place to go! … It means a lot to me. My uncle wouldn’t have [had] anywhere to go during the day, if it wasn’t for New Horizons.”

Not many people know that Angela was a caretaker for her uncle for several years before his passing. 💙

Giarratana adds that she’s excited to share more content and wants to support other important organizations as well. To close, she passionately says with the honest character her fans know and love:

“I want people to have programs like this; I want to raise money and awareness for programs like this, so that’s what we’re doing here in this weird video that I hope had good sound. Anyway, I love you guys.”

To catch Uncle Johnny when it premieres online, visit AngTube on June 14th, 2026. And don’t forget to support New Horizons via Angela’s fundraising link.

Also, if you haven’t, go subscribe to AngTube for more content coming soon!!

And… For a sob-worthy article on the creation of the film, this post by League of Filmmakers will get you in your feels and offer really neat insight.

That’s all for now!
