For the best story, try to include:
- Who was it that you met?
- What was an attribute that stood out to you about them?
- What was the circumstance in which you met? (At an event, at a theatre performance, on the street/in a store. Broad scene setting.)
- What is something that stood out about the experience/circumstance, as a whole?
- Anything else that you think is cool about them/the situation!
Guidelines:
For cast safety, Do not include…
- The location (proper noun) of where you met them (name of the place, etc. Unless it was a large, publicly advertised, nationally recognized/registered event, or the member posted about it).
(e.g. “grocery store” is great; “Erewhon in Pasadena” is not.) - Time of day you met them.
- Any other information about them that could be deemed personal (such as their relationship status, or a job they’re working), even if they spoke it directly to you.
These things can be easily fabricated and start rumors. Even if it’s true and was came by honestly, maybe it’s just a cool and special thing best shared with your close, trusted friends instead! - Things you overheard. These aren’t for anyone but them to decide to share 🙂
Okay to include, but not necessarily recommended:
- The day of the week/ the date you met them. (e.g. for public, media-covered events, this is totally fine.)
- Information that they spoke directly to you and intentionally shared with you.
(same as outlined above, an example of what not to share is: their relationship status, a job that they’re working, etc.)
Your story will be reviewed, and edits will be made if need be, but keeping it within guidelines allows your story to be shared verbatim (without editing/un-flush cadence)!
If you’re unsure about whether something is okay to share, you can leave it in and mark it for the editor.
