Smosh Summer Games Returns to YouTube for the first time in six years…

It’s been just over a week since Smosh officially closed it’s first Summer Games since 2019. It seems that the company decided to celebrate its 20th anniversary with a real bang: renting out a whole high school and doing a throwback vid… to the year Smosh was created: 2005.

This Smosh Summer Games is really special because it was the first SSG for much of the current cast. “New Smosh” as they’re usually called, hailed a Golden Era for Smosh, …but they hadn’t gotten to experience the legendary Summer Games series… until this summer of 2025.

In fact, only about half of this year’s attendees had ever been in a previous SSG. Shayne Topp, Courtney Miller, Noah Grossman, Keith Leak Jr., Olivia Sui, Damien Haas, Ian Hecox, and Anthony Padilla were the only of previous competitors to return to the games. Tommy Bowe and Spencer Agnew had briefly been in games before, but this was their first full-fledged participation as part of a team.

As for New Smosh, including: Angela Giarratana, Chanse McCrary, Amanda Lehan-Canto, Arasha Lalani, and Trevor Evarts, this was their very first summer games ever.

The competitions challenged participants mentally and physically, however, Smosh made changes to the structure of their Summer Games to make it safer and more HR friendly. Talk about upgrades!

Rivalries heated up over the 9 different challenges. We saw attempted alliances near the end, as well.

A Twist

There ended up being controversy over the point system among fans, since only six of the games actually counted toward the final score. AND a new team had emerged after the first three games and the point system seemed to have not properly accounted for their disadvantage.

The Summer began with two teams: the Hollywood Hotdogs and the Downtown Dairy Cows.

The Hotdogs absolutely crushed the first game, also took the second game and then horribly lost the third when Angela Giarratana was outed first in a game of darts (but different). Spencer Agnew of the Cows was the second to be called out of the game and then a second Hotdog befell their fate before, again, another Cow joined the sidelines.

The four who composed the benched group then became a whole new team: The Detention Degenerates.

About the change, team captain Giarratana said, “Right off the bat, the biggest loss I’m feeling right now is Arasha, I feel like her and I were like, approaching like absolute nirvana and now she’s been replaced with someone like Spencer.”

Points were then halved from the previous teams to include points from previous games (aside of darts) and given to the new team.

The DeGens, as they were affectionately nicknamed by fans, absolutely crushed the next few games up until the last half of the game of Beopardy, when they began to fall behind, due to a poor points system.

Finally, competitors took to the stage for one last challenge: The promposal.

In this challenge, each team member individually had to perform a convincing proposal to ask BBNo$ to join them for prom.

After their performance, BB would give a yes or no, and then three judges would give their breakdown of what they saw on stage.

In the end, the Hollywood Hotdogs won, with the Cows coming in second and the beloved DeGens coming in third place.
