Today, on the Smosh Games Binho (finger soccer) field, player Angela Giarratana of Team Pink was falsely called out on a foul. Ref Chanse McCrary believed he saw a double-touch on the ball during Giarratana’s play. “You’ve already touched it!” he calls, and grabs her hand, causing a net touch.

Team Pink in shock after ref’s call.

Giarratana’s teammate, Trevor Evarts, in an effort to save their team against an opposing score, points out the net touch.

Giarratana immediately jumps in and clarifies, “Chanse grabbed my hand and then it touched the net!”

Evarts and Giarratana explaining the net touch caused by the ref’s grab.

Despite their efforts, the foul double-touch call is not revoked, however they receive the the saving penalty from the net touch which, though it removes a player from their field, forces a ball reset, in their favor.

“It’s all bad propaganda!!” Giarratana says from the sidelines as ref McCrary has defender Daniel Lopez of Team Pink benched.

“It’s ALL BAD propaganda!!” Giarratana challenges.

Evarts is heard comforting his teammate, gently reassuring her, “It’s better than them having a free shot, it’s okay.”

“One-hundred percent, hundred percent. I don’t care. I don’t give a [bleep].” Giarratana responds.

Slow-mos were unfortunately not processed until after the game was called as a loss minutes later for Team Pink, when opponent Team Stink manages to score the winning goal.

Left to right: Evarts and Giarratana conversing off field as a defender gets benched.

However, those playbacks show that the double-touch call was a foul call. And, again, that the net touch was caused by ref McCrary’s physical grab on Giarratana.

Does this make Team Stink’s win void?

Should Team Pink demand a new game?

Yes, the net penalty saved them from an immediate score, but they should have had their turn to kick the ball away from the net. There was no foul and they lost a player on a false call 😭
